Thankful for the "boring" life

I have a few friends who are constantly updating their blogs and writing interesting things that happen, and it always makes me wish I wrote more. But the problem is that:

1. I would write the same things my friends did. They write about things that are happening in the news and their views, and my view is right in line with them. If I were to write about the same thing, it would be like I was copying them and I don't want to do that.
2. I lead a boring life. Nothing exciting happens very often. (I'm talking about things other than planned vacations, etc.)

So as I was sitting here thinking about my "boring" life, it made me realize that's what I can write about. Sometimes it's super great to lead a "boring" life. And today I heard a story that made me really grateful for it.

So some of you know I started a new job a few weeks ago as a receptionist. Well, I'm still learning the different personalities of those I work with. And there is one gentleman in particular who just never seems very friendly. I went and asked a co-worker if he was always grumpy, and not expecting a long answer, she provided me with his story. The shorter version is as follows:

This man was married soon after serving an LDS mission. He and his wife had children. After they were finished having children, his wife decided all need for physical relations was over. They started sleeping in separate rooms, and about three years ago she left him. Ever since then, he has been depressed. Even though their marriage wasn't great to begin with, her leaving was really hard for him.

So today I am thankful to have a "boring" life and know that every day will be the "same old" with my husband waking up by my side.  And I'm grateful for the knowledge that we're never going to leave each other. Our love is so deep and forever that I am 100 percent confident in saying that.

And just to end: I really don't think my life is boring. It's exciting to live every day with my best friend! :)
